Grace In Your Face

Lyrics and Credits

He Takes Care Of His Own

Have you ever been in a hurry
Waitin' for the one sure thing
That will change your life
or so it seems
You spend your life chasing rainbows
Unaware that God's inside ya
Like an anchor For all your dreams
He's greater than your longings
He's the righter of all wrongings
And he wants us all to put our trust in him

Chorus:
From what I know about my king- He sees over everything
and he knows all of what you need before you do
If he can turn the night to day or make the mountains fall away
Than surely he can make your little dreams come true
Christ is always with you, and you're not alone
And from what I hear, he takes care of his own

Jesus told his friends about it Long ago up on a mountain
Not far away from Galilee
That's what faith is all about Knowing it all works out
No matter what's in front of you Or what you see
He's the author of your story and he's owed all our glory
Still he wants to rain his favor down on you

Chorus 2:
From what I know about my king He sees over everything
and he knows all of what you need before you do
If he can change the night to day
or Make a man from dust and clay then surely
He can work a miracle for you
Jesus is with you and you're not alone
And from what I hear, he takes care of his own

Oh, God is all around us, and we're not alone
And from what I know, he takes care of his own

There Are No Words

I sat down one day to write a song for you
To give you praise in ways mere words could never do
'cause you show your love to me within my darkest night
and so I wanted to make sure I wrote it right
But when I went to write it down
I felt your presence all around
My love for you got in the way
And the only thing that I could say was

Chorus:

Halleluia! Halleluia!
There are no words to describe how much you are to me
Holy Jesus! Precious Jesus!
You give me everything and I don't deserve you

Your Holy Spirit, it washes over me- makes me see things, I couldn't ever see
The way you gave your life to pay for all my sins -Your grace and love is why I'm in the life I'm in
And when temptation comes my way -and I'm afraid that I may stray
you live right inside of me -bringing me to victory

Repeat Chorus

Grace In Your Face

Open up your eyes and look all around you
Have you ever seen a sky so blue
All the beauty everywhere will astound you
'till there's only one thing that you can do
Drop down to your knees, raise your hands and cry "Glory!"
These are the wonders of God on Tour
Open up your mind and then prepare to get busy
This what we're here for

Whoa, whoa, whoa

Whoa whoa whoa whoa,

Chorus 1:

Can ya believe what you can't see
Or are ya gonna try to reason it out
When all of his grace is in your face
Tell your heart to take another route
Soon, there's gonna come a time when you can't fake it
Jesus offers life, so ya might as well take it
Raise your hands, and get ready to change

Some people wanna say it's evolution
That this party started with a bang
But I can tell ya 'bout the might of Jesus
and that puts any monkey man to shame
So, raise up your voice, and sing his praises to the masses
Make his glory known before time runs out
Give your heart to Christ and get your backstage passes
Get ready for the encore

Whoa, whoa, whoa

Whoa whoa whoa whoa,

Chorus 2:

Can ya believe what you can't see
Or are ya gonna just believe in yourself
When all of his grace is in your face
Are ya gonna watch eternity melt
Ya can't get to heaven on your worthless merit
Jesus is our uniform and we must wear it
Raise your hands, and get ready to change
Get ready to Change
Get ready to Change
Get ready to Change

Take Me Home

Daddy, can you come get me?

It's gettin' dark and scary and I'm all alone
Daddy, this place ain't like home
There's monsters in the closet, and I'm scared of the unknown
I know you told me that I still have work to do
But I don't know if I'm brave enough
Don't know if I can see it through

Chorus 1:

Take me home-where the milk and honey flow
Where your wonder overwhelms me
More than I will ever know
Bring me back-To my father's side
where the evil of the enemy
Doesn't Have a place to hide
Take me home-Take me home

Father, I know you hear my cry
There's so many things I question and I don't know why
Oh, Father, my life is in your hands
Take away the doubt that plagued me
and I'll become a brand new man
I know you're doin' things that I can never see
I guess I'll hang around and serve you-That's why you created me

Chorus 2:

Take me home-To the wonders of this Earth
From the sun rise and the moon shine
To the miracle of birth
Leave me here-with my children and my wife
Until you return in glory
and give us all new life
Take me Home-Take Me Home

Remember Me (Psalm 25)

To You, O God, I lift up my soul
I will ever trust in you, you're in control
I will never be ashamed Of who you are to me
Jesus, help me not to drown in my iniquity
Teach me to know your ways, O God Show me the truth of who you are
For you are the one that saved me From certain death and pain
I will wait all day if I have to For you to come back to me again

Chorus:
Remember your mercies, O God-For they've been around forever
Remember forgiveness, O God-I don't wanna be a sinner
'cause your constant love can set me free
and despite all I do to you
Remember Me

How great and righteous are you, Lord
To turn my filthy rags into a royal robe
Every ounce of pride I have
Dissolves in your sweet grace
Jesus, please steer my course
Until I can see your face

Repeat Chorus

Father God, can you hear my cry
I'm so scared and all alone
my heart is full of trouble
Bring me out of my distress
(won't ya) Cease all of this worrying
And forgive my sins

Repeat Chorus

You Are

My beloved, our big day is finally here! Just like you've always hoped it would be
When God made youHe knew that I'd be struggling in my sin
and that I would need your soul to lean on
I could never ask for anyone more beautiful than you
and our Father gave your Love to me -Long before I knew (that)

Chorus 1:

You are
Proof that God is with me
You are
The answer to my prayers and I know
That this is a forever kinda thing
And I always will remember
For a lifetime of Decembers
What a precious gift
You Are

Oh, my angel, Heaven is smiling on this day
and this is only the beginning
Of our lives
We'll spend it all devoted to his name -Knowing his grace and Love will feed us
Well, there won't always be sunshine -But it's worth it all to me
and I pray that every day I live -I can make you see

Chorus 2

You are
Jesus smilin' at me
You are
A reflection of his love, and I know
That this is a forever kinda thing
and I always will remember
For a lifetime of Decembers
What a precious gift
You Are

What a beautiful Show of his grace
You are

To Live For You

Well, it looks like I've been busted again
Treading with my selfishness-in the deep end of my sin
I'm cryin' out to you in all my shame
Help me understand where I go wrong
and why I put the blame on someone else
I won't submit to anyone but you
For no one knows my darkness like you do
Take it away from me
Jesus, set me Free

Chorus:

All I want is to live for you
with a pure mind and a holy heart
Jesus, make me someone new
Stronger and surer, wiser and pure as snow
and then I'll know-I can come home

I've been in a masquerade for all these years
I live out loud in happiness but in the dark I dwell in fear
I just can't climb the mountain of my sin
The path is all too rocky-and the air is way to thin
I always fall
Only you know how much I can take
How much this heart can stretch before it breaks
I'll give it all to you-It's all about you

Repeat Chorus

A Prayer (On The Mount)

Seems like all my life I've wanted just to find you
But when I'd reach out you seemed so far away
I never knew you were the author of my destiny
But you gave me sight to see you plain as day
So now I walk with you along this rocky pathway
and I look up as I tumble to the ground
Then I see your glory all stretched out in front of me
and I long to see you turn my heart around

Chorus 1:

Set me at your feet-I long to hear you speaking
Bring me to my knees, and humble me so I can grow more close to you
There's nothing more that I can ask for
Set me at your side-with the twelve up on the mountain
Teach me how to pray-and let your love fall like a fountain
Down all over me-All over me
Oh, Jesus (Oh, Jesus) stay with me

I don't remember much of what I did before you
How can anybody live without your love
I know I'll never have to learn again the hard way
Because you ransomed me with your blood on that cross
I can never find a way to make it even
The debt you've paid is too much for my simple brain
Jesus, keep me occupied with thoughts of only you
And take me back up to the mount again

Chorus 2:

Set me at your feet-I long to hear you teaching
Bring me to my knees, and humble me so I can grow more close to you
There's nothing more that I can ask for
Set me at your side-with the twelve up on the mountain
Teach me how to pray-and let your grace fall like a fountain
Down all over me-All over me
Oh, Jesus (Oh, Jesus) stay with me
My saviour, Stay with me

Thank yous, Acknowlegements and General Upbuilding
A record that praises God and makes much of his name would of course not be possible without God himself, to whom I am eternally grateful, not only for the gifts he has given me, but the sacrifice of his son on the cross that will see me home, the sinner that I am. To my wife, erin(and yes, the lowercase there is deliberate!), thank you so much for so many years of love, patience, and dedication. I love you, squishie. To my church family at Meadowview Baptist in Republic, MO., thank you for taking a chance on a hyperactive guy with a guitar and a whole lot to say, and my Pastor, Josh Mathews in particular for leading me back to Christ, and for showing me what true worship really is. To Freddie and Becky, definitely not your typical In-Laws. I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me, and that you believed in me. To the hardworking staff at TMG, you've made a forever dream of mine come true. I'd also like to shout hello to Amanda Auberry (are you ready to hit the road, Madame President?) and to my family back in St. Louis. Paul, Andrew, Bruce, Tom, Michael, and Barb. I miss you all, and I love you. Finally, to anyone that picks up this record, downloads it, or listens on the radio without changing the station. Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart. Please allow these songs to draw you closer to Christ, and to a cross centered life.
